G7 preparation for Pharmacy Teams

May 21, 2021

With the G7 imminently approaching as an LPC we wanted share guidance we feel is appropriate to support the smooth operation of Pharmacy and minimise impact on Patients throughout this period.

The G7 will take place in Carbis Bay between the 11th – 13th June 2021.

It seems clear that the area around Carbis Bay as well as St Ives will see significant impact and we know that these Pharmacies are already being communicated with. As limited information is released about the event we feel the impact will likely include Newquay, Falmouth, Truro and all areas/roads in between. As such we are strongly recommending that ALL Pharmacies in Cornwall take this opportunity to review the below steps;

-Consider supply chain impact
-Ensure business continuity plans are in place and up to date
-Pull forward, where appropriate any managed workload, the LPC have advised the GPs via the LMC newsletter that this may be the case and to support early requests
-Impact on deliveries to patients
-Staff challenges, particularly around Pharmacist

Whilst the G7 is held across the three days, you should expect some disruption up to 10 days prior and several days following.

As an LPC Team we remain committed to support in any appropriate way we can, so if you require any support please do not hesitate to get in contact with us via [email protected].

In the meantime below we have listed a number of links that have up to date information on G7 and the likely impact in local areas.
