There was a communication from the CCG on 11th January asking about our readiness as a holder of a contract (minor ailments, Emergency Supply etc.) with the CCG for Brexit. This letter was sent to all their contract holders, not just Pharmacies. In the case of the multiples, it may have gone to your head office.
We tried to have a dialogue with the CCG as to what they actually required. We have now had that dialogue and what is required is an email to say that as a Pharmacy you are aware of Card 1 – action for providers and have identified any risks to your organisation. This action card was a part of the EU Exit Operational Readiness Guidance and please find attached the relevant pages.
Of the 7 key areas;
1. Supply of Medicines and Vaccines (and this more about not doing anything)
4. Workforce (particularly if you have any EU nationals in the organisation)
7. Data sharing, processing and access ( particularly if you have data backed up in the EU) are the ones that are most likely to effect Pharmacies.
There will be a communication from the CCG in the next few days following up the original request and they will expect a response.
Please find below the PSNC business continuity template and checklist which you may find useful if you do not have one.
