Exciting Opportunities – Health Education England (HEE) is rolling out masters-level courses to help post-registration pharmacists apply their skills as part of multidisciplinary NHS teams, with funding coming through the Pharmacy Integration Fund (PhIF).

The courses will cover five strands: service improvement; extended skills; patient activation; delivering medicines optimisation; and NHS England clinical priorities.

Pharmacists can choose to take a single module or a range of modules, and can earn up to 60 credits a year – equivalent to a postgraduate certificate.

This is a new innovative approach to postgraduate training for pharmacists, and helps support workforce transformation across the NHS and equips community pharmacists with the knowledge basis and competences to start working in a more integrated way as a crucial member of a multi disciplinary team.

The training will be delivered by De Montfort University, the University of Manchester, and the University of Bath (in some cases with consortium partners including the University of Exeter) and it will cover five strands:

Pharmacists interested in taking up the fully-funded training will need to contact the course provider directly, but more information is available on the HEE website
